5 Reasons to Stay at All-Inclusive Resorts in Antigua and Barbuda
Barbuda as the lesser neighbor of Antigua is not considering here as the whole island is in extensive repair to reopen after 2017's hurricane damage. I will be talking strictly about Antigua, the island with 365 beaches and one of the most exclusive destinations in the Caribbean.
1. They are located on some of the best locations in this gorgeous Island. Yes, the island has a beach for every day of the year, most are crystal clear with white power sands that are really cushy and soft. In some unfortunate cases in a beach fairy tale, you want to maybe avoid rocks, grass, and sometimes cruise tourists to enjoy a peaceful, serene location all by yourself and your partner.
2. You won't spend too much time waiting around. Our all-inclusive hotel restaurant offers fast service, usually able to finish a meal around 30 minutes. We dined outside all-inclusive hotel restaurant and waited about 2 hours to finish a simple lunch, island time is real! The restaurant service on this island is not good, especially when you compared to Jamaica. Not anywhere, but most places we have dined. Waiters are mostly grumpy, and you can tell, so don't have high expectations on that.
3. To save money. I know I know all inclusive hotels are expensive, and in Antigua?! Phew! It is EVEN MORE expensive ranging from USD 400-1200 per night for 2 adults. This all-inclusive package still come in very handy because it is an expensive island for you to eat anywhere, go anywhere and shop anything. It is worth it to splurge the nice all-inclusive resorts!
4. You won't get bored. My impression of the island is that if you are a thrill seeker energized by multitude of entertaining activities during a vacation, this simply is not the island for you. If you want to kick back, relax, enjoy the nature and the beach then you are at the right place. All-inclusive resorts offer laid back evening entertainment for guests to enjoy, because out in the town, there isn't much going on.
5. To really destress! This isn't Antigua specific but just a general reason to why you should go for an all-inclusive vacation. If you have a demanding job, you work hard during your normal routine, let yourself completely enjoy everything and not worry about bringing wallet, budgeting expense. Have whatever drinks you'd like, try different water activities, dig into different local flavors!
For my recommendations on which all-inclusive to stay and which to avoid, it will be covered on a separate article.
